Passive House Certification

There are still only a handful of Passive House buildings built in this country. The real experience and know-how is simply not available yet and a lot has to change before new knowledge and skills are firmly in place! Super-efficient buildings require super levels of technical knowledge, design skill and care in construction.

We have reason to believe that some of the Irish designers and builders of Passive House buildings are not going through the rigour of registering each building with the ‘Passivhaus Institute’, nor completing the detailed design calculations and tests. We are against this approach which we feel is too easy, too comfortable and too close to the old tradition of ‘sure that’ll do’!

It is for this reason that we have sought a partner outside of Ireland (Setz Architecture) who can contribute that rigour and that experience in a partnership that will deliver fully-certified, super-low energy Passive House buildings or homes to you!
